On 23 & 24 of November 2016, the 1st Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) European Regional Meeting took place in Zappeion Megaron in Athens.

On Saturday 19/11/2016 a conference with title “Application Results of Certification Standard for the Sustainable Management and Development of Mediterranean Beaches – Costa Nostrum Sustainable Beaches on the beaches of the Municipality of Agios Nikolaos” took place in Agios Nikolaos.

Partnership Agreement have signed Costa Nostrum – Sustainable Beaches and “Local Production & Hospitality SA” – which is managing the company of the «We do local» standard. «We do local» and «Costa Nostrum – Sustainable Beaches» agreed on mutual cooperation with the objective of sustainable development and efficient management of the beaches of the hotel units, creating in this way the hotels promotional conditions to visitors, but also creating tourist benefits for both the hotel units and the destination Crete.

The municipality of Agios Nikolaos in Crete is the first municipality in the Mediterranean Sea, which will certify its beaches as Costa Nostrum. PDF (Greek
