Within the framework of the BlueIslands (Interreg Mediterranean) the Region of Crete, focusing on the protection of the coastal environment, the sustainable management of waste produced within the coastal zone and the development of a sustainable tourism model, has chosen the construction – proposal created by the cooperation of AELIA Sustainable Engineering with Costa Nostrum, as an applied “Good Practice” with the aim of spreading it to other participants in the program and throughout the European Union.

Within the framework of the BlueIslands (Interreg Mediterranean) the Region of Crete, focusing on the protection of the coastal environment, the sustainable management of waste produced within the coastal zone and the development of a sustainable tourism model, has chosen the award-winning certification standard “Costa Nostrum – Sustainable Beaches” as an applied “Good Practice” with the aim of spreading it to other participants in the program and throughout the European Union.

It is a special honor for us to participate and present our work, through the Founder of Costa Nostrum Mr. Vassilis Zisimopoulos, in a very important webinar, BIENNALE HABITAT 2020-2022, «The Mediterranean and Coastal Tourism – Current Scenarios and Shaping Future Tourism», about tourism and how it is shaped, according to the new data created by the Covid-19 pandemic.
