Costa Nostrum as the certification body for the innovative Certification Protocol for the Sustainable Development and Management of Mediterranean Beaches Costa Nostrum – Sustainable Beaches, after the latest developments regarding the withdrawal of the Voulisma beach (Municipality of Agios Nikolaos) from the Blue Flag program and in accordance with the procedures of the Protocol, is obliged to reduce by three points the total score of the certified Costa Nostrum Sustainable Beach, Voulisma and with code GRCR201603.

Press release 10/08/2017: The Municipality of Hersonissos signed a cooperation agreement with Costa Nostrum to certify 4 municipal beaches as Costa Nostrum – Sustainable Beaches

The Municipality of Hersonissos, acting within the framework of the sustainable policy which applies to all its actions, as an active member of the Covenant of Mayors, as well as, under the Sustainable Tourism Development Plan, signed a cooperation agreement with Costa Nostrum Ltd for the certification of four (4) municipal beaches, which meet the requirements of the award-winning, innovative “Costa Nostrum-Sustainable Beaches” certification protocol in order to gain a significant and internationally recognized proof of sustainable development.

For the second consecutive year the municipality of Agios Nikolaos Certifies 4 Municipal Beaches as Costa Nostrum – Sustainable Beaches

A cooperation agreement signed between Costa Nostrum Ltd and DAEAN for the recertification of four municipal beaches of the municipality of Agios Nikolaos Crete as Costa Nostrum – Sustainable Beaches. On the same day, these four beaches were re-audited. The four beaches of the Agios Nikolaos Municipality that are part of the certified sustainable beaches of Costa Nostrum – Sustainable Beaches are: Almiros Beach, Voulisma Beach, Kitroplatia Beach and Schisma Beach.
