Double qualification for Costa Nostrum at the European Business Awards for the Environment

PRESS RELEASE 21/05/2020

With joy, but also with restrained enthusiasm, due to the global crisis of corona virus pandemic, it is our great honor to announce that Costa Nostrum’s proposal regarding the “Costa Nostrum – Sustainable Beaches” certification protocol for the Sustainable Management and Development of the Mediterranean beaches, qualifies for the final phase of the European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE), in the category of BUSINESS AND BIODIVERSITITY.

At the same time, the proposal submitted by the subsidiary of Costa Nostrum, AELIA – Sustainable Engineering, in collaboration with Costa Nostrum and the name “Smart Green Bins for Beaches” was also qualified in the final phase of the European Business Awards for the Environment (EBAE), in the category of PRODUCT AND SERVICES.

During the previous phase, our proposals received a particularly high score at the national level from the Evaluation Committee and are among the proposals which will be sent to the European Commission to participate in the European Competition, under the auspices of the European Union, together with companies from other European countries. In addition, a special ceremony will be held in Athens in the autumn of 2020 during which PASEPPE (Panhellenic Association of Environmental Protection Enterprises) will award prizes in all submitted proposals in Greece and will announce the first of each category.

The European Award Ceremony for the European Business Awards for the Environment will be held in late 2020, in a city of the country that will have the presidency of the European Union during the second half of 2020.

In a more general climate of global tourism and economic redefinition, we are optimistic that both the Costa Nostrum proposal and the AELIA-Sustainable Engineering proposal will be worthy ambassadors of our country in the European Competition and we will be able to meet the expectations of Greek proposition.

As an attachment to the Press Release, we attach a brochure from the proposal “Smart Green Bins for Beaches”.
