Cooperation Agreement between Costa Nostrum & Hellenic Centre for Marine Research Institute of Oceanography

The launch of a highly constructive collaboration between Costa Nostrum and the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research Institute of Oceanography took place on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. The presentation took place at the Crete Aquarium.

During the presentation, the objectives and key pillars of the new cooperation, this should contribute to highlighting, exploiting and promoting:

  • The maritime and the sustainable tourism, the sustainable beaches, the maritime economy, the coastal and marine environment and the implementation of an innovative common strategy and development cooperation in the field of Blue Growth.

In a time of economic and general crisis, linking and working closely with educational and research bodies and businesses for a broad common purpose, such as protecting the coastal environment and developing sustainable tourism with a variety of environmental, social and economic benefits, for both tourist destinations and the tourism sector itself, it is considered a business and social necessity.

Present at the presentation of this new collaboration was among others the Director of the HCMR Institute of Oceanography Dr. Aristomenis Karageorgis, the Regional Environmental Adviser in the Region of Crete, Mr. Xylouris, representatives of the Region of Crete, scientists and media representatives.
