The beach

Right next to Sarantari, on the west side, there is a small beach, protected by the high cliffs. It is the only nudist beach near Hersonissos. The swimming coast has fine sand and alternates with rocks. The waters are always calm and deeply smooth. It is a beach suitable for isolation.

You can access the beach either walking by the sea from Sarandari beach or downhill 50 meters west of the asphalt road. The beach is not organized, but you will find rich natural shade from the rock that embraces it.

Municipality of Hersonissos

The Municipality of Hersonissos is located on the northern coast of the prefecture of Heraklion and few kilometers from the city of Heraklion. From 2010 and when the Kallikratis program was implemented, the New Municipality of Hersonissos now includes the municipalities / former municipalities of Gouves, Episkopi and Malia. The area of ​​the new Municipality is 271 with a population of 26.000 inhabitants according to the 2011 census.

In the coastal areas of Hersonissos, Gouves and ​​Malia is developed the main tourist activity of the municipality. The area around the beach is considered as tourist resort, so within a short radius you will find many taverns, restaurants, cafes, beach bars and a variety of accommodation options.

From the Port of Hersonissos 3km and an estimated journey time of about 11 minutes.

From International Airport Nikos Kazantzakis of Heraklion is about 23.7Km and an estimated journey time of about 25 minutes.

From the Port of Heraklion and the bus station of Heraklion-Lassithi 28.6Km and an estimated journey time of about 31 minutes.

From the Historical Centre of Heraklion (Lions Square) 28.6Km and an estimated journey time of about 39 minutes.
