In the hall of King George Hotel, Syntagma Square, all the tourist world was present and participated actively in this festive event of recognition and reward for the major tourist businesses. These are the enterprises that, during the crisis that has exhausted Greek society over the years, are producing and contributing significantly to Greece. They promote the positive image of our country abroad, strengthen the economy and all co-partners working with the tourism industry and offer a large number of jobs.
The event was “open” with greetings by the General Secretary. Mr. Yiorgos Tziallas on behalf of the Ministry of Tourism, Mr. Manos N. Konsolas, the Tourism Director of Nea Demokratia, Mr. Charalampos Karimalis, President of EOT, Mrs. Agapi Smpokou, on behalf of SETE, Mrs. Christina Tetradis, Deputy Chairman of Hellenic Chamber of Hotels and Mr. Lyssandros Tsilidis, President of FEDHATTA.
The award for Costa Nostrum was received by Founder and CEO of Vassilis Zisimopoulos, who also had the honor to present to the participants the award-winning innovative “Certification Protocol for Sustainable Development and Management for Mediterranean Beaches Costa Nostrum – Sustainable Beaches” and especially its very positive results from its application to the public beaches of the Municipality of Agios Nikolaos and the Municipality of Hersonissos, as well as, to the privately operated beaches of the Candia Maris Resort & Spa hotel complexes and Creta Maris Beach Resort.
