The Maritime Week took place between June 29 and July 6, 2025 in a number of selected ports and cities in Greece.
The Maritime Week is an institution of national importance, which honors the relationship of Greeks with the sea and is organized by the Navy in collaboration with the Coast Guard – Hellenic Coast Guard every year.

One of the cities in which events were held as part of the Maritime Week was the Municipality of Agios Nikolaos in Crete, one of the most touristic municipalities in Greece.
As part of the events held in the Municipality of Agios Nikolaos, on July 4, 2025, a conference was held that had as its main subject Marine Pollution and the Protection of the Marine Environment.
Costa Nostrum had the honor of presenting its work through a presentation entitled “Sustainable Beach Management – Luxury or Necessity: The Protocol for the Sustainable Management and Development of Mediterranean Beaches Costa Nostrum – Sustainable Beaches”.

The presentation was made by the distinguished Dr. Ekaterini Vavouraki, Educational Chemist, member of the Crete Coastal Education and Training Board.
At the end of the conference, a dialogue with all those present followed, which once again highlighted the need for the coastal area of both Greece and the wider Mediterranean to move to a more sustainable model of management and development, with its parallel protection and promotion.
