During the two days, 5th and 6th of November 2022, the Climathon Thessaloniki 2022, took place in the Municipality of Kalamaria, under the auspices of the United Nations Youth Network for the promotion of Sustainable Development Solutions in the Black Sea (SDSN Youth Black Sea) and with the main theme of “Emerging an Urban Green Oasis” in the Municipality of Kalamaria. At this specific event, an innovation contest took place in the following areas:
- Highlighting flora and fauna of the area,
- Creative use of space,
- Sustainable Urban Mobility,
- Promotion of sustainable tourism,
- Highlighting preserved buildings in the area,
- Promotion and utilization of Aretsous beach.
The specific event was attended by representatives of the 1st and 2nd degree Local Government, representatives of organizations, members of the academic community, and a large number of people.
As part of the event, the CEO of Costa Nostrum made a presentation entitled “Sustainable use of beaches and promotion of sustainable tourism”.
